In a series of posts tagged as "Favorite Finds", we want to share with you some of our favorite hangouts and experiences–proof that we do get out from behind our screens. (¬‿¬)

On our way back from camping in Ventura (which will definitely be another post!), we were starving for some quality food that wasn't directly from a can. In our defense, it was our first time camping, so of course I packed canned food instead of cooking over a fire..lol. Back to Rabalais, we drove on Main Street and saw this restaurant with the most people in it. Being tired and like a tourist, we parked and followed the herd to a warm and welcoming Rabalais Bistro and Bakery. With it's high ceilings, pulled back velvet curtains, and weaved rattan chairs, we were pleasantly greeted and seated by Mindy to our table. She took the time to get our order with much patience. The food has a New Orleans history and tasty spin. I was fortunate enough to meet the owner who was friendly to chat for a moment and shared a bit about her family and the restaurant's influence: Grandma. Of course, I had to finish the brunch with another sweet vanilla latte. Below are the Beignets, which kicked off our brunch. Sugar overload!
