July 24th is Self-Care Day, and we’re all about taking a time-out to focus on our well being. We all deserve a little time to ourselves, but it doesn’t just have to be one day out of the year. In fact, the World Health Organization chose July 24th because self care can be practiced 7 days a week, 24 hours a day!
And the great thing about technology is it can really help with self care. It can be difficult to find time to focus on physical and mental health, but various apps and inventions can make it easier. Here’s some of our favorite self care tech helpers.
Meditation Apps
It’s one thing to know you want to meditate, and another to just jump into the practice. A good meditation app, like Insight Timer or Calm, can provide you with a variety of guided meditations to help you on your journey.
Light Therapy Lamps
The lack of sun in the fall and winter months can seriously affect your mental health. A light therapy lamp is a great way to combat seasonal depression. Just turn it on every morning and absorb that much-needed sunshine.
Smart Water Bottles
Do you drink enough water? Does it feel like a chore to even keep track of your hydration? A smart water bottle takes all the guess work out of drinking water by sending you notifications and helping you keep track of how much you’re drinking in a day.
Air Purifiers
This is an act of self care you can turn on and forget about, letting it work for you in the background of your life without a second thought! You may not even realize how the quality of the air inside your home can affect your physical and mental health, but just a few weeks with a high-quality air purifier will definitely open your eyes.
Electric Massagers
Need we say more? A massager in the comfort of your home, at your fingertips whenever you want it, is one of the best ways to de-stress at the end of a long day. And there’s so many different types to chose from! Whether you’re looking for a shiatsu neck massager, foot massager, targeted massage gun, or even a full massage chair! We love options.
Smart Watches
It’s so easy to sit down on the couch after a long day (or, let’s be honest, right after waking up) and not think about getting in movement. But moving your body is critical for your physical and mental health. A smart watch can send you reminders to walk and move your body every hour (or whenever you choose to be reminded), and can help you track your steps without needing your phone.
